She is currently teaching creative writing on the Adult Education Evening Programme of Blackrock Further Education Institute. Here are testimonials given by some of Liz’s recent students:
“I attended Liz McSkeane’s Creative Writing Course at BFEI from September to December 2023. Throughout the course, I found Liz’s guidance extremely helpful and insightful. The course was well-organized and provided an understanding of the structure, format, and style of world-renowned pieces of prose and poetry. I was fascinated by the exploration of different forms of creative writing, and the insights gained were both valuable and thought-provoking. As a result of the course, my writing has improved tremendously.” Rosemary Kavanagh
“Liz’s writing class has become one of the highlights of my week. Relaxed and insightful, she explores both poetry and prose. Interesting assignments will get you writing – or get you writing again. I can’t think of a better reason to abandon the sofa of a winter’s evening.” Grace Garvey
“The format of the class worked very well. I would definitively recommend this class if you are interested in learning more about the creative process of writing. Elizabeth is a wonderful teacher and made sure all our voices were heard.” Isobel O’Driscoll
Liz also has long experience as a facilitator and member of writers’ workshops, including Dublin Writers’ Workshop in the 1990s, Dublin Writers’ Forum (with Anne Tannam).
